Tomás Gómez-Acebo
VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENTS
Tomás Gómez-Acebo holds a Degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Doctoral Degree in Sciences from the University of Navarra. He currently carries out his teaching work as a Professor of Thermodynamics at the School of Engineering (TECNUN) at the University of Navarra, and as a researcher in the Materials Department at the Center of Studies and Technical Research (CEIT).
His research focuses on the applications of thermodynamics and kinetics to the transformation of materials, especially in relation to powder metallurgy. As a result of this work, he has published 25 articles in international science journals. He has also been a visiting researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden and at the Manchester Materials Science Center in the United Kingdom.
Among other distinctions, he was Highly Commended at the Euro PM2003 Conference and won the Best Paper Award at the Euro PM2007 Conference.
At the same time, he is a scientific reviewer for several journals in his area of specialization and a project evaluator for the Spanish Agency for Evaluation and Projection (ANEP), He sits on the Board of Management for the School of Engineering (TECNUN) as Director of Student Affairs. In 2008, he was accredited as a Professor.
He is Vice President of Students since 2012.
