Our University has been admitted as a partner of the New European Bauhaus initiative along with 200 other European entities, companies and universities.

The New European Bauhaus is a project of the European Commission that aims to turn the European Green Deal into a shared, positive and tangible experience. Through it, it brings together institutions, organizations, governments, public and private companies and experts interested in sharing projects, ideas and experiences that contribute to achieving a better environment for all, especially after the pandemic. Its three core values are: sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion.

"Being partners of the New European Bauhaus provides the opportunity for our professors, researchers and experts to share their expertise and debate and dialogue  with other European experts. It is also a good opportunity to develop joint, interdisciplinary work at the European level," commented Cristina Muñoz Corsini, director of the Planning and Design Service of the University of Navarra Campus.

In addition, with the aim of compiling experiences and initiatives aligned with the objectives of this movement, the I edition of the New European Bauhaus Awards has been announced, in which the University of Navarra has been short listed with four projects: the Degree in Design, the Master in Design and Environmental Management of Buildings, the Design of the University Campus and the University of Navarra Museum.

The four projects were among the 60 finalists, selected from more than 2,000 entries. "The awards reward and celebrate achievements and help the younger generation to continue to develop new concepts and ideas. They give visibility to examples and concepts that illustrate the beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places that exist in our territories, in our communities and in our practices and pave the way for the future," the organization explains.

Universities have been trying for years to adapt their spaces to the needs of new learning methods and campus life. At the University, a model has been created to transform our campus that combines sustainability, aesthetics and the human factor. A multidisciplinary team works to apply innovative approaches.

Degree in Design. Category: "Interdisciplinary education models".

The new Degree in Design was launched in 2016. In first and second year a generalist approach to design is offered and in third and fourth year the student can choose between three options: product design, fashion design or service design. The key is innovative teaching, with methodologies based on the integration of content and the acquisition of skills through projects.

Museum. Category: "Cultural heritage preserved and transformed".

The Museum's collection and legacies become a source of inspiration for artists, the university community and society in general. It thus fulfills its mission in terms of research and creation, education and dissemination of contemporary art, from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Master in Environmental Design and Management of Buildings. Category: "Interdisciplinary education models".

This master's degree trains experts in a new architecture that integrates sustainability with architectural criteria from the outset. Its differentiating points are the design and quantification of sustainability, internationalization, innovation and the involvement of companies in the development of final year projects.
