Presentation
Since the 1970s, there is no lack of bibliography on Opus Dei and neither references to this institution of the Catholic Church in works on recent history of Spain, Latin America and the history of the Church and contemporary religious history. On many occasions polarization has characterized the historiographical debate in this regard. More than twenty years have passed since the Center of Documentation and Research on Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer (CEDEJ-University of Navarra), part of the Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer Historical Institute (ISJE) in Rome, began the task of facing this history in an academic way.
All proposals submitted must address the central theme of the Congress or one of the thematic sections of the Congress:
-
Historiography and methodologies.
-
Women and Catholicism.
-
Catholic initiatives.
The organization contemplates the possibility of publishing the results of the congress.
