Why Study Theology

The School of Theology offers an atmosphere where students from across the globe and diverse branches of knowledge come together under one roof. Students can complete interdisciplinary programs in Theology, Philosophy, Communication, Law, Canon Law, Bioethics, Psychology, and others.

The School of Theology offers three degree programs:

• The Bachelor in Theology (STB) program is an integral and complete undergraduate theological program of studies covering the full range of Catholic doctrine. The bachelor is a five-year program with courses in philosophy, theology, and ancient languages.

• The Licentiate Programs in Theology (STL) allow students to dive deeper into one of three specializations and to begin theological research. These two-year programs (120 ECTS credits) include the completion of a thesis paper.

• The Doctorate in Theology (STD) prepares students to teach in Universities and Seminaries, Institutes of Religious Studies, as well as other positions in the Church. The preparation of the doctoral dissertation normally takes two to five years.
