Regime of studies

The permanence of students in the School is limited to a period of two more courses than those established in the Study program. However, this period may be extended by one or two more years for those students who, having completed the majority of the courses of the degree program, can justify not having been able to dedicate themselves to the programs of study for reasons worthy of consideration. The extension must be requested, within the last year of permanence, by means of written request addressed to President, which will decide after verification of the alleged reasons and report of the board Directive of the School.

The condition of student of the School of Theology will be lost when, after the re-sit examination period of the month of June, 4 or more subjects of any subject are not passed (due to Fail or not presentation unjustified) during the second year or subsequent years studied in the Bachelor in Theology (STB); or when 3 or more subjects of any subject are not passed (due to Fail or not presentation unjustified) in the Licentiate in Theology (STL).

Students who have more than 10 unexcused absences per semester or more than 5 unexcused absences per or more than 10 unexcused absences per or more than 5 unexcused absences per seminar, do not comply with the school regime and lose the right to exams.

Students will be entitled to four exam sessions on each subject. Those who fail to achieve approve any subject once the third exam session has been completed, may apply for the extension of the four exam sessions to two more.

The application must be formalised in the month following the publication of the grades of the third call, by means of a reasoned letter addressed to the Dean of the School. An appeal may be lodged against the decision of the Board of Directors within fifteen days before the deadline at the University President.

Students may not, at their discretion, waive the exams they are required to take, but may be excused from those they are unable to attend for duly justified reasons and given in writing to Dean 30 days before the end of the class period, or before the exam if the reason for non-attendance occurs after the end of the class period. Except in the cases of dispensation referred to in the previous section , all the exam sessions of the courses in which the student is enrolled will be counted successively, even those in which the student does not take the exam or has failed in other Universities.

The examinations corresponding to the fourth sitting of each subject, or to the fifth and sixth sittings when an extension is granted, will be held before a panel constituted for this purpose, which must assess, in addition to the results of the test , the academic record and other circumstances of the candidate student.

Subject and seminar grades are expressed in the following terms: Fail, C, B, A and matricula de honor. For the purpose of calculating the average marks of the transcript , the following values will be taken: Fail: from 0 to 4.9 points; C: from 5.0 to 6.9 points; B: from 7.0 to 8.9 points; A: from 9.0 to 10 points.

The professor may award honors to students who have obtained a grade equal or higher than 9. The number may not exceed 5% of the number of students enrolled, unless this is less than 20, in which case he/she may award only one honors.
