Resumen:
Lawsuits for rape and unfulfilled marriage gave rise, in the cases which resulted in pregnancy, to proceedings for recognition of paternity and food supply. The rights of newborn children out of wedlock were determined by the legislation on filiation. Nevertheless, thanks to deeds of obligation ("escrituras de obligacion") established between individuals, and the lawsuits that followed them towards the civil and ecclesiastical courts, we can know the commitments of father not only with the newborn child, but also with the mother before and after the birth.
