Data on the number of specialized services come mostly from the diverse regional atlas of palliative care (Europe 2008, 2013 and 2019; Latin America 2013 and 2020; Africa 2017; Eastern Mediterranean 2017 and 2021). Additionally, for countries where there was no avaliable information (Including North America and Asian regions), another sources such as the World Mapping studies have been used: Wright, 2008; Lynch, 2013; and Clarck, 2019. Data, though collected in previous years to the publication dates, have been assigned to the year of publication. 

We have applied a statistical method to show the latest avaliable data for a given country/region.
