The Closing of the Spanish Heart
The Closing of the Spanish Heart
Session organized within the ICS Challenge 2022-2023 "Youth, Relationships and Psychological Well-Being".Title 'The Closing of the Spanish Heart: How growing numbers of young adults are now steering clear of marriage and childbearing, why it matters, and what we can do to revive marriage and family life in Spain'.
Marriage and fertility rates are hitting lows never seen before in history. But the paradox is that marriage and family life matter more than ever in the 21st century. Men, women, and children in married families are much more likely to thrive socially, emotionally, and financially than their peers who don’t enjoy the safety and security of a married family. Professor Brad Wilcox of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia will explain what’s happening to marriage and family life, how these two institutions matter more than ever today, and what we can do to revive their fortunes in 21st-century Spain.
Speaker: Brad Wilcox (National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia).
