Founders Week 2023
From 2 to 8 October 2021, the University will celebrate the first edition of "Founder’s Week".
This week is framed by the anniversary of the founding of Opus Dei, on 2 October 1928, the canonization of St. Josemaría, on 6 October 2002, and the homily delivered by our first Chancellor on campus on 8 October 1967, during the Mass on the occasion of the Second General Assembly of the Friends of the University of Navarra Association.
St Josemaria loved the university as an institution, and he firmly believed that knowledge should be put to use in the service of others. For this reason, he inspired the foundation of the University of Navarra in 1952. He served as the university’s first Chancellor until his death in 1975, guiding and encouraging the work of the University throughout.
His dream lives on today. The university has expanded over new campuses, Schools and centers. The university community numbers over 13,000 people, including students and employees. Together, we keep the spirit of our founder alive.
